TikTok like-to-view ratio checker
Type a video’s views and likes to see how many views each like takes, whether the heart count looks in proportion, and what range would look ordinary.
Why this proportion gets noticed
People judge a video in a glance, and one of the things they glance at is whether the heart count fits the view count. A clip with 50,000 views and 200 likes reads as one people skipped; the same clip with 3,000 likes reads as one people enjoyed. The ratio is also one of the first things brands check when they vet a creator.
What counts as a typical ratio?
There is no official figure, and it varies by niche. Our rule of thumb is one like for every 10 to 25 views on a video people enjoyed, or roughly 4% to 10% of viewers. Comedy and community content often runs higher; tutorials and news often lower. Compare a video against your own other videos as well as against the range.
When likes run low
- The hook pulled people in but the payoff didn’t land.
- The video was shown widely to people outside your usual audience.
- There was no reason to react: no question, no strong opinion, no moment worth tapping for.
When likes run very high
Very high ratios happen on content shown mainly to an existing, loyal audience. They can also come from engagement groups or bought likes, which is why extremes stand out to people who look closely.
Acting on the number
If a video that matters (one you pin, or link from your bio) sits well under the range, you have two options: improve the next video, or add likes to bring this one in line. If you choose the second, the range above tells you how many would look normal; our 500 and 1,000 like packs cover most videos with a few thousand to a few tens of thousands of views.
Beyond likes
Comments and shares say more than likes about how much people valued a video. For the full picture, run the same video through the engagement rate calculator.
